I just happened upon this, and what a gift! I’ve followed Marla on Substack for a few months now (I’m not on other social media), and there are lines o poems that just stay with me. It was really up to hear from Marla in long-form here. I really feel like her humor, her joy, her frank ownership of her past, and her compassion for her younger self makes her feel like sort of a mother in the un-faith. I just felt such a warmth and kindness extending from this conversation and promising me it’s going to be okay. Excellent interview.
